Custom MapReduce application on BigInsights

Is it possible to deploy my own applications? I googled around and found an old forum post that indicated that custom applications were not yet possible but in the works.

What is the status of this?

  You can deploy BigInsights applications using the Applications -> Manage tab of BigInsights console. You can use Pig or Jaql, for instance, for developing Mapreduce apps. Details about creating a BigInsights app are documented in InfoSphere BigInsights Information center.

  Yes, you can publish and deploy your own application. The easiest way would be using the Eclipse tooling as described here
